Seed Freshness and Germination

May 06, 2022Rob Elliott

Seed freshness is a complicated issue - some seeds need to be planted immediately or else they will lose their viability in days. Other seeds can sprout after being stored for 2000 years!

The seeds we sell are in between, but if stored well can easily last 10+ years.

We run germination tests to ensure the seed you receive is well above USDA standards (typically  >90% germination).

If you see a sell by date on the bottom that has passed - do not worry! That is just a holdover from when they enveloped were printed.

Of course if you have germination issues for any reason, we offer free support, replacement, and refund if we can get you to successfully grow.
